Mainland Policemen’s Benevolent Association, Inc., Local # 77, is a Chartered Local Association of the New Jersey State Policeman’s Benevolent Association Inc. as a union comprised of Law Enforcement Officers, within Atlantic County, New Jersey.

The New Jersey State P.B.A. was organized in 1896 and presently has over 350 locals and approximately 30,000 members representing federal, county, state and local law enforcement agencies. Mainland P.B.A. Local 77 obtained its affiliated Police Benevolent Association Charter in 1931. All Mainland P.B.A. Local # 77 members are duly sworn full time or retired Law Enforcement officers that are or were employed by twelve Municipal and County law enforcement agencies, located within Atlantic County, New Jersey. We currently represent approximately  830 active and retired members.

As the majority representative and exclusive collective bargaining agent we negotiate labor contracts with employers. We also ensure compliance to our labor contracts, department rules and regulations, local and Federal law, and take necessary action to protect our members.

Our members are dedicated to serving and protecting the communities where they live and work. We   are committed to the prevention of crime, protection of life and property, safety, enforcement of laws and ordinances and the safeguarding of constitutional rights and guarantees.

Every year the P.B.A. donates money for benevolent causes, including our scholarship program, charities, financial assistance to families of fallen or critically ill officers, citizens of the communities we serve and other worthy causes that benefit our community.
